My professional career commenced upon my return from serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1987 to 1991 - active duty and 1991 to 1993 - active reservist.  I was stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA, at Marine Security Guard Battalion Headquarters and finally at American Embassy Abidjan, Ivory Coast - West Africa at Gulf Company (Company 'G') Marine West Africa Headquarters.

I started my architectural education by attending Pima Community College (general studies) then transferring to the University of Arizona - College of Architecture.  I then finished ITT Tech in computer aided drafting and design.

In 1998 I was hired by a small but leading design firm - Simmons Home Designs - Greg Simmons - which specialized in mid level to high-end custom homes.  There we worked with many of Tucson's quality home builders.  Throughout my eight years with the organization, I rose from a relatively junior position as a project draftsman to the lead project manager. There, I gained the knowledge and abilities necessary to finish a set of construction papers (CDs) and to collaborate with the local building departments and custom home builders in the Tucson, Oro Valley, and Marana metropolitan areas. About 250 sets of construction documents were completed under my direction or with my direct assistance.

I founded Architectural Concepts in 2005 to offer drawing services to custom house builders, architects, home designers and home owners.

I had the wonderful chance to work for Mike Franks as a project draftsman at the reputable architectural firm Seaver Franks Architects in 2009. I collaborated extensively with the project architect on a number of sizable custom homes. Two examples of these projects were a 14,000-square-foot makeover for one of Tucson's pioneer families and a local auto dealer's home.

Tucson's real estate market collapsed in the wake of the US economic crisis.

In 2010 I was hired on with Arizona Restaurant Supply, first as a project coordinator and then as the stainless steel estimator / project draftsman.

In 2013, I had the pleasure to rejoin Mike Franks at Seaver Franks Architects as a project draftsman. I was able to resume my enthusiasm for architecture by working on multiple projects under the supervision from architect Ben Cole.

2014 saw an improvement in the economy, so I decided to reopen Architectural Concepts.

I have established relationships with Tucson's architects, designers and custom home builders and seeking out new clients.

I have 26 years of experience in residential drafting and design development. My greatest strengths lie in the completion and drafting of construction documents and my attention to detail.

Thank you for taking the time to read about architectural concepts, and I hope to work with you soon.
